Introduction

These Terms & Conditions set out the basis on which we provide scaffolding services at Solent Scaffolding Ltd. When you accept a quotation or instruct us to begin work, you agree to these terms in full. They apply to all of our services, including domestic, commercial, and marine scaffolding projects.

We aim to keep everything clear and straightforward so you always know what to expect from us, and what we need from you in return.

Quotations and Acceptance

All quotations we provide are free of charge and are normally valid for 30 days unless we state otherwise. Once you accept a quotation, whether that is in writing, verbally, or by asking us to proceed, it becomes a binding agreement.

If we arrive on site and find that the conditions are different from what was originally discussed, we may need to revise the quotation. If that happens, we will always explain the changes before carrying out any additional work.

Scope of Work

The work we carry out will follow the details set out in your quotation. If you ask us to carry out additional work that falls outside of that agreement, this may result in extra charges. We will always make this clear and agree any changes with you before proceeding.

Access and Site Conditions

You are responsible for making sure we have safe and suitable access to the site at the agreed times. The area where the scaffold is to be erected should be clear of obstacles unless we have agreed otherwise in advance.

If access is restricted or the site is not safe for our team to work, this may cause delays or additional costs. We will always communicate with you if any issues arise.

Health and Safety

We take health and safety seriously on every project. All scaffolding is erected in line with current UK standards, including TG20 and SG4 guidance, and is carried out by trained and qualified scaffolders.

Once the scaffold has been installed, it must not be altered, moved, or interfered with by anyone other than our team. If any changes are needed, you must contact us so we can carry them out safely.

Hire Period

The hire period begins from the date the scaffold is erected and continues until it is dismantled. The agreed hire duration will be outlined in your quotation.

If the scaffold is required for longer than originally planned, additional hire charges may apply. We recommend letting us know as early as possible if your project is running over schedule.

Client Responsibilities

While the scaffold is in place, you are responsible for ensuring it is used correctly and safely. You must take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access, particularly outside of working hours.

If the scaffold is damaged, tampered with, or used incorrectly, you must inform us straight away so we can assess and resolve the issue.

Payment Terms

Payment terms will be clearly stated on your quotation or invoice. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is typically due within 7 to 14 days.

If payment is not made within the agreed timeframe, we reserve the right to charge interest or suspend further work until the account is brought up to date.

Delays and Unforeseen Circumstances

There are times when delays can occur due to factors outside of our control. This can include poor weather, restricted access, or delays caused by other trades working on site.

In these situations, we will always do our best to minimise disruption, but additional costs may apply if the delay affects our schedule or resources.

Damage and Liability

We take great care when working on your property, but we cannot be held responsible for any existing damage that was already present before work began.

If you believe any damage has been caused during our work, this must be reported to us within 24 hours so we can investigate properly.

Insurance

We carry appropriate public liability insurance to cover the work we undertake. If you would like to see details of our cover, we are happy to provide them upon request.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel work after it has been agreed, we ask that you give us as much notice as possible. Depending on how far the job has progressed, we may need to charge for time already allocated, materials prepared, or costs already incurred.

Dismantling of Scaffolding

We will arrange dismantling once you confirm that the scaffold is no longer required. Before we arrive, the scaffold must be clear of materials, debris, or anything that could prevent safe removal.

If we are unable to dismantle due to site conditions, additional charges may apply for return visits.

Ownership of Equipment

All scaffolding equipment supplied remains our property at all times. It must not be moved, altered, or interfered with by anyone outside of our team.

Complaints

We take pride in the service we provide and aim to resolve any concerns quickly and fairly. If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our work, please contact us directly so we can put things right.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be handled within the UK legal system.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The most recent version will always apply to any new work carried out.
